Marymounts Parents Project

Parents Association

The Parents Association provides an opportunity for life-long partnerships and promotes a genuine sense of community by engaging parents, faculty and staff in a common goal: creating the best learning environment for all of our students to ensure their success. The Association serves as a resource to all parents to stay involved with the College.

The Parents Association understands that the role of a parent changes as your student enters their next academic journey into higher education. You may have questions, ideas and expectations and this community of parents will be able to provide you with the support, engagement opportunities and direction that you are looking for through the Parents Association.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Parents Association is to serve as a resource for parents and engage the College community to help enhance their family’s Marymount experience.

March 19th, San Pedro native and television director, Gene Bernard returned to San Pedro at Marymount College’s Waterfront Campus, to speak with our media study students. Mr. Bernard was also presented with a proclamation from Councilman’s Buscaino’s office.

The Parents Project is the Parents Association annual fundraising project. Each year, parents and College administrators will identify a project that can be implemented in the school year to benefit current students.

2012 - 2013 Parents Project: The Commons

The Commons when fully completed, will be an innovative, active learning and programing space, with the capacity for 200 students. With high-speed wireless access, this space gives Marymount students what they have been asking for: a place to collaborate on group projects (study preference for today’s students), aplace to socialize, to be inspired and challenged and motivated by others.

“The Commons is an incredibly important addition to Marymount. Thank you parents for supporting the Parents Project, which will give us the space where we can study in groups without having to worry about being quite.”  - Amanda Armas Class of 2015
