Marymount College is pleased to offer a variety of scholarships that celebrate your academic accomplishments and special talents. As you move through the application process, it is extremely important to us that we establish a strong communication link. We want to get to know who “you” are and why “you” believe that Marymount College can provide you with a dynamic education and an exciting path to the attainment of your bachelor degree.
Please review the criteria of each of the scholarship opportunities listed below. If you have submitted your application for admission, along with your academic credentials, essay/personal statement, and letters of recommendation by the appropriate deadline (November 1/Spring or May 1/Fall), the Office of Admission will determine the appropriate level of your scholarship. All scholarship recipients must reside on campus for their first two years at Marymount College (unless a waiver is issued).
First-Year Student Academic Merit Scholarships
The academic merit scholarships listed below are designated for first-year students who are enrolling into Marymount College for either the spring or fall semester. As mentioned above, all students seeking to be considered as a candidate for the first-year student academic merit scholarship must submit a completed application for admission by November 1 (Spring) or May 1 (Fall).
Academic merit scholarships may be renewed annually. The Director of Financial Aid will review each scholarship recipient’s academic transcript/record each semester. It is important that each recipient is fully aware of the grade point average (GPA) that each scholarship has attached to it for renewal.
Trustee’s Scholarship ($12,000/year)
- Academic GPA Required for Consideration: 3.70 – 4.00+
Marymount College GPA Required for Renewal: 3.20
President’s Scholarship ($10,000/year)
- Academic GPA Required for Consideration: 3.40 – 3.69
Marymount College GPA Required for Renewal: 3.00
Dean’s Scholarship ($8,000/year)
- Academic GPA Required for Consideration: 3.00 – 3.39
Marymount College GPA Required for Renewal: 2.80
Achievement Scholarship ($5,000/year)
- Academic GPA Required for Consideration: 2.75 – 2.99
Marymount College GPA Required for Renewal: 2.50
Transfer Scholarships
Incoming transfer students who have completed a minimum of 24 academic credits will be considered for a transfer scholarship. Incoming transfer students who have completed fewer than 24 academic credits but at least 12 academic credits will be reviewed on an individual basis. As mentioned above, all transfer students seeking to be considered as a candidate for a transfer scholarship must submit a completed application for admission by November 1 (Spring) or May 1 (Fall).
Transfer scholarships may be renewed annually. The Director of Financial Aid will review each scholarship recipient’s academic transcript/record each semester. It is important that each recipient is fully aware of the grade point average (GPA) that each scholarship has attached to it for renewal.

President’s Scholarship ($5,000/year)
- Academic GPA Required for Consideration: 3.00 – 3.49
Marymount College GPA Required for Renewal: 3.00
Dean’s Scholarship ($4,000/year)
- Academic GPA Required for Consideration: 2.50 – 2.99
Marymount College GPA Required for Renewal: 2.50
International Academic Merit Scholarships
Non-US citizens who have earned a cumulative academic grade point average (GPA) of 2.80 or higher may qualify for an international academic merit scholarship. As mentioned above, all students seeking to be considered as a candidate for an international academic merit scholarship must submit a completed application for admission by November 1 (Spring) or May 1 (Fall). Students entering the College via established partnerships are not eligible for any Marymount College scholarship aid.
International academic merit scholarships may be renewed annually. The Director of Financial Aid will review each scholarship recipient’s academic progress each semester. It is important that each recipient is fully aware of the grade point average (GPA) that this scholarship has attached to it for renewal.
International Academic Merit Scholarship ($5,000/year)
- Academic GPA Required for Consideration: 2.80 – 4.00

Athletic Scholarships
Student-athletes who are enrolling into Marymount College for either the spring or fall semester may be eligible for an Athletic Scholarship. As mentioned above, all students seeking to be considered as a candidate for an athletic scholarship must submit a completed application for admission by November 1 (Spring) or May 1 (Fall). Award amounts will vary. Each coach will recommend the amount of institutional athletic scholarship being proposed as a scholarship for an incoming student-athlete. Each recommendation will be reviewed by the Director of Athletics and the Director of Financial Aid. It is important that each recipient is fully aware of the grade point average (GPA) that each scholarship has attached to it for renewal. In the case of student-athletes who receive an Athletic Scholarship, the renewal grade point average (GPA) will be determined by the academic scholarship that the candidate receives or is established at 2.50 for non-academic scholarship recipients.
Athletic Scholarship (Amount Varies/year)
- Recommended by a specific coach and reviewed/approved by the Director of Athletics and the Director of Financial Aid

Media Studies/Fine Arts Scholarships – A competition for a select number of Media Studies/Fine Arts Scholarships will be announced on this site by or before Monday, December 3, 2012.
Tuition Exchange Programs
Marymount College is a member of the Tuition Exchange ( http://tuitionexchange.org ) and the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) Tuition Exchange Program ( http://www.cic.edu ).

As an incentive to file a completed FAFSA application in a timely manner, Marymount College will award $1,500 to new applicants who fill out and submit a completed FAFSA form by March 1, 2013. All forms must include the Marymount College School Code (010474) listed on the FAFSA application.
U.S. citizens or students with the appropriate documentation for permanent resident status are eligible to file the FAFSA in order to qualify for this one-time award. This incentive award is available only as students apply and enter Marymount College for their initial semester.
Outside Scholarships and Funds
A list of outside scholarships and funds will be posted on this site in early December, 2012. Inquiries and applicants will receive a reminder to review this site in their communication flow.
