The Early College Experience Program offered through Marymount College offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to take college-transferable courses and earn college credit on their own high school campus.
This concurrent enrollment program offers challenging curricula and exposure to college learning expectations. Its purpose is to provide advance scholastic and educational enrichment opportunities for Advanced Placement (AP) eligible students.
The concurrent enrollment courses maintain the rigor of regular college courses by using the same syllabi and textbooks, by assessing the same learning outcomes and by ensuring that high school teachers hired as adjunct faculty members meet the Marymount College qualifications to teach college-level coursework.
Eligibility for Enrollment:
· Students must be high school juniors or seniors.
· Students must be eligible for Advanced Placement (AP) curses.
· Students must meet all prerequisites prior to enrollment.
· Students must take the Marymount administered Mathematics Accuplacer examination and /or the English Accuplacer test if enrolling in courses where a specific Math or English proficiency level is required, unless prerequisites are satisfied through sufficient SAT, PSAT, or ACT scores, or completion of prior corresponding college-level coursework with a grade of C or higher.
· Students also must submit a copy of their high school transcript and available PSAT/SAT/ACT scores (qualifying scores can be used in lieu of placement testing) with the admission application.
· Students must provide documented consent of a parent, school principal, school counselor and a Marymount College designee.
