  • Most items in the library can be borrowed for a period of 2 weeks.

  • Items that cannot be borrowed include reference books, newspapers, magazines and journals. Only faculty may borrow DVDs and videos.

  • The checkout limit for all library items is six (6) per person. Materials may be renewed in person or by telephone.

  • If you are interested in an item that is on loan to another person you may place a hold on the item. The item will not be eligible for renewal and must be returned to the library by the end of the original loan period.

  • Instructors may place items on reserve for their courses to ensure access to all students. Reserved items have either a two-hour or one-day loan period.

  • The overdue fine for reserves is $1.00/hour on 2 hour loans or $1.00/day for one-day loans. Overdue fines for all other items are ten cents ($.10) per item per day. Fines will only accrue during the Library's normal business days. Library users with overdue items will not be permitted to borrow additional items from the Library until all overdue items have been returned and any fines incurred are paid.

  • Items not returned by the end of the semester will be considered lost and a bill for replacement will be issued. Library users will be assessed a replacement fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each lost or damaged item. Please note this fee includes not only the cost of re-purchasing an item, but also the labor and materials involved in processing books.  In the case of students, a hold will be placed on their student account.
