Dean of Students

Dean Shane Armstrong has worked at Marymount College since 1998.  She has served in many roles, among them Director of Student Life, Director of Residential Life, ASMC advisor, MOVE advisor, Athletic Director, International Student Coordinator,  Director of the Marymount Advantage,  Associate Dean of Students, and, most recently, as the Dean of Students since 2007.

As the Dean of Students, Dean Armstrong is here to help students have the richest collegiate experience possible.  Frequently seen at student events, Dean Armstrong lived at the PVNorth residential community for 13 years and regularly has students in her office or home for meetings or meals.

A resident of San Pedro, Dean Armstrong is active in her son’s boy scout troop where she serves as the Merit Badge Coordinator and is a liturgist in her church congregation.

Like many of you, Dean Armstrong is also a student.  Currently enrolled in a doctoral program, she will complete her doctorate in higher education leadership in 2015.

Office of Dean of Students

The Dean’s office is a great first stop for students who need assistance with matters occurring outside the classroom.  Since students only spend about 15 hours a week in class, that means that the majority of their time is spent in other endeavors.

If you have questions about anything related to Campus Life, the Dean’s office is a great starting place.
