LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM SPECIALIST
Position available April 1, 2013
 
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide learning management system (LMS) assistance and support to faculty, staff, and students.
 
Develop faculty training courses for the delivery of Hybrid and Online classes.
 
Assist with the delivery of LMS training.
 
Assist with developing policy and procedure.
 
Research and resolve LMS functionality issues.
 
Management of System Information (preparation for updates/new documentation/monitoring of system effectiveness in satisfying user needs).
 
Management of Courses (updating course properties/creating courses/enrolling users/using batch processes/course utilities/import-export-copy functions).
 
Management of user accounts (customize information/Institution & System Role management).
 
Assist with the management of Community Areas:  clubhouses, learning communities, themes, tools, navigation, widgets, documentation, configuration.
 
·Maintain and support various technologies used in the delivery of courses.   (i.e. D2L Capture, Tegrity, Fuze, etc.) 
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two years experience working with web-based information systems. Experience in LMS administration preferred, ideally in a Desire2Learn (D2L) environment. Must have experience with end-user support or as Help Desk staff in higher education, experience with programming and scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL.   Experience with podcasting and streaming video technologies preferred.
