The Office of Sustainability reflects MCU’s commitment to be good stewards of our natural resources and our relationships with those around us. Sustainability means integrating the principles of environmental stewardship, social justice, and economic wellbeing to ensure a livable, fair, and viable world for current and future generations. We see the world as a system where everything we do, even the simplest of actions, impacts the rest of the world.
Sustainability has a place in high-level decision-making, but also how we operate as a campus community on a daily basis. Everything from the way we get from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’, the waste we generate, the food we eat, and the way we communicate and interact with one another has potentially harmful or renewing economic, social, and ecological impacts. It is our charge to meaningfully engage in sustainability thinking and practice, and commit to making a positive impact within our local and global communities.
